I want to ask this question before I allow my son to take any proteins.

He would like to bulk up a bit this summer and was wanting to take "Muscle Milk" which is a whey based protein. He will have to take his DoDMERB this summer.

Will this have an impact on any of the tests they run?

Just would like to know before I allow it.

I will go ahead and tell you that everybody is different so nothing is 100% but in my case yes.

Strenous physical activity and protein supplements can cause you to need remedials in your urynalisis. I had to take mine 3 times because of this. I was advised to stop working out and taking high protein foods and supplements for the 5 days before the test. If you fail the third one I believe you are DQ'd and need to get a waiver.

It's fine if he does this as long as he stops the protein supplements and tones down the workouts about 2 weeks before the test (can be less but this is just to be sure).

i took

creatine and worked out steadily even up until the day before mine. urinalysis was fine.

That is incorrect:thumb:

Oh, how come people get waivers for ROTC but not the academy sometimes and they have a separate category for ROTC and the academy if they are the exact same why can't you be either qualified or DQd for both?

That is what I meant. Please explain.

My answer was regarding proteins:thumb:

The standards, except for one vision standard for USMA and (Army) ROTC are exactly the same.

Waivers, are issued on a case-by-case basis, involving risk analysis and a myriad of other concerns applicable to THAT applicant, THAT Academy, THAT ROTC program; and/or THAT Service.:thumb:
