SLE Admission Status 2018

DS got that email too...then last night from same server got an "ACCEPTED"
 
Apparently the SLE application started January 15th, but I was able to do mine on January 12th. It says my SLE status is "PENDING (Jan 12, 2018)." Is this possible?

Yes. The SLE has a rolling deadline; likewise, it has a rolling acceptance.
 
DS is accepted in SLE n NASS. we leave in Florida, I am not sure (if accepted) he can do AFSS too. the Florida boy state is after SLE. how different or similar NASS to AFSS?

Your PSAT/SAT scores are very high! Congratulations! A 1540 on the SAT would definitely make you competitive for USMA. I don’t think your minority status as an Asian American would help though :(.

Regarding the SLE, I can’t say for sure whether those high scores will improve your chances. I submitted a high PSAT score (1430) and received by my SLE rejection sometime in April last year (RIP).

I think that the SLE admissions is so inundated with applicants every year, that they simply run out of available slots.



This is interesting!!! my #1 DS got SLE rejection 2 years ago. GPA 4.67 ACT: math 34 science 36 . DS #2 got accepted to SLE GPA: 3.55 ACT math 35 science 30. Similar resume boy state, eagle scout, sea cadet, 2 varsity sport letter, DS #2 is captain DS#1 was boy state commissioner. I am Asian

I hope this helps. Keep in mind that the SLE is by no means an indicator of whether you’ll receive an appointment to USMA.

My DS got the same. It does said it will be open on 2/20, which is today. but so far it still in (Not available yet). Is that same with you as of today?

I was accepted 2/15. Nothing update on the forms on the portal as of 3:30pm.
 
DD of NoVa got an email alerting her or acceptance in USNA Summer Seminar. She will accept. Just have to file paperwork and make payment tonight when I get home from work.
She is very excited. I don't know how she is functioning at school today.

My DD just got into Navy Summer Seminar with only moderate PSAT scores and no SAT scores yet. I don't believe SAT scores are the ruling determinant.

Not for USNA. They ask for more things (an essay, etc). For USMA, standardized test scores and which district you’re from is everything.

I thought for sure she'd be dinged for USNA bc we live about 45 mins away for USNA. She applied to WP SLE thinking her options were better in a more remote SA. Still haven't heard from WP SLE, but she has accepted USNA and can't do both as her HS doesn't get out until June 20. She'll have make up SOL (No child left behind State tests) and final exams to reschedule. Rowing in Canada first week of June for her HS and missing school then too.
 
Has anyone's portal updated with the forms for SLE acceptance? I was notified that I was accepted for session 1 on February 9 and informed that the portal for the forms would update on February 20 but it still hasn't updated. Anyone else having this issue?
