Waiver vs. DQ Removal

Good Morning,

I have a condition that I listed on my medical that I, as it turns out, do not have. I determined this with a biopsy which came out negative. Initially, I put the condition down because I was verbally told I had this by the doctor, but it wasn't until after I was disqualified that I got a biopsy to confirm or deny my condition and possibly help with the waiver process. I have been waived for Army ROTC but I wanted to know if there was a way to get the disqualification removed instead of waiting for a waiver from USMA that might not come.

I already submitted all information I can to DoDMERB, but they haven't "removed" the disqualification. I don't know if there's an avenue to make this happen but if there is I'd like to pursue it.

For reference, the DQ is Psoriasis and I have a biopsy report showing I have no psoriasis and a letter from a Dermatologist explaining and reaffirming this stance.

Thank you.

It is possible. My DS was DQ in January after a test result mix-up. I won't go into our details because they aren't the same. It took awhile and a whole bunch of contacting the testing doctor, Concorde, and DoDMERB staff and a whole bunch of patience (and patches of frustration). In a little under 2 months, the correct information was placed in his file and his status was changed to Qualified. Every situation is different and I imagine people have had easier times than my DS and people have had harder (and longer) times than him. My only advice would be to make constant contact with the people involved and stay on top of it. There was a large amount of phone calls and emails sent to all involved.

What contact information did you use to contact DoDMERB Staff? I will Contact the concorde doctor ASAP.

Thank you so much. For some reason, I could not see a reply until now.

Is there anything specific you asked the doctor to say besides "my initial assessment was incorrect, this is affirmed by my current assessment and the test results of this biopsy. This is the situation with this patient".?

I just don't want to miss anything and mess up.

Also, do you know if USMA removes their waiver request after 90 days? Thank you.
