Hi everyone.
I’m visiting Europe a week before reporting to USAFA for In processing Day. How much will this affect my ability to get top security level/clearance?

*shoot didn’t mean to title it What Now. Leftover title from what I was going to post(was going to ask how to prepare for BCT) Sorry about that!

Keep track of dates and countries visited. Start an informal log saved somewhere. You will one day fill out extensive online forms for security clearances that ask you dates, duration, purpose of travel, locations of international travel, and foreign contacts, for some number of years back. By that they don’t mean the hotel reception clerk, but a home stay family, a new friend made with whom you’ve stayed in contact, etc.

The SF-86 is the form you can look forward to.

Military folks travel for pleasure all the time, all over the world, as well as in the line of duty. They just have to keep track of it, document foreign contacts, obey local laws as well as the UCMJ, avoid countries on the do not travel list (unless they are ordered there).
