Hello all!

As the title says, this thread is about just that! I'm struggling a little with the upper body portion (pull-ups and push ups) of the simulated CFA. Do any fitness gurus, previous/past mids, current mids, or anyone knowledgeable about physical fitness have any tips or workouts that would help with this? (besides the obvious, keep working at it) I would like to have some sort of workouts or exercises to add to my daily routine! I would like to have my official CFA submitted by the end of August at the latest. Any tips, exercises, workouts, or advice would be extremely helpful!

Perfect. Push-ups and pull-ups are the most straightforward exercises to improve on in my opinion. Basically you want to practice them on a consistent basis, and use techniques like drop-sets to keep challenging yourself. Here is a program I've used for push-ups and one for pull-ups. I guarantee you will make significant progress if you follow them. Good luck!

Thank you so much!! I will definitely incorporate this into my workouts!

Several older threads on the CFA topic. You can find them by doing a site search.

Lol, scooby. Interesting choice for a workout website

Look up Stew Smith CFA workouts. He has a couple books on preparing for the CFA, but if you dig deep enough you'll also find articles he wrote about training plans that you can access for free. Here's the links to a couple that I found, but you can probably find some more as well! In some of his articles he talks about the negative effects of over training push-ups and pull-ups (i.e. if you try and do 200 push-ups everyday) and how to prevent that from happening while still significantly improving your scores.
