This is really getting far afield, but there is a recording of Amazing Grace by the Blind Boys of Alabama, done to the melody of the song you're referring to:


Yes. They are blind and the original members, of which only a couple are still living, attended the Alabama Institute for the ***** Blind as boys.

There may be irony in the mash up of the songs, but not intent of the singers.
 
Been to a lot of Mardi Gras and long before that city in Nevada had the comercial "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" New Orleans was the town where you forgot everything that might have happened.

3 places where 3 days/2 nights are plenty...New Orleans, Vegas and Key West...good, bad or otherwise, went to all three places too many times during my Navy flying years...

Explains why we can't go to Key West for cross-countries anymore in the training commands...
 
They are all great cities and should be on every Bucket List. San Francisco can be added while at Travis.
