Would anyone know if it's possible to form a rock band at KP in your later years when you have more freedoms? Make it into a club and have everyone meet up and rehearse? Possibly play gigs in New York? If not, what are musical extracurriculars are there at KP?

It's been done. We had a band that would play the M/N Pub most weekends, I don't know if they played any gigs off campus but they did play a few songs at June Ball that year.

Is the pub still even there? It was opened during my third or second class year. . .can't recall which one for some reason. . . .

Can't recall because you spent too much time there is most likely. Now its the "M/N Activities Center" but will always live on as "the Pub" in many hearts.

You could most certainly form a rock band at KP. You could even make it a club activity, provided you have a sponsor and enough people who are interested. If you had upper classmen in the group, you could even play gigs off campus during plebe year.

It was quite the deal when it opened. Saved a bunch of us from getting into trouble down the street, although that was also the reason for heading down the street, too. . . .

And got a bunch in trouble who didn't head down the street ... aka the "MAC 5" of lore.

The last commandant shut it down, current commandant brought it back. But it's still called the pub and is still in operation. The regimental pub master is a thing.

Oh, didn't hear about that one. . . My class had the Felony Fund. . .a few more than 5 involved in that one. . . sure got MY attention speaking with the NYC detective from Queens. . .and then there were those that painted the rainbow torpedo target on the EMPIRE STATE. . . allegedly. . . . or MY favorite, turning the gun around to face Wiley Hall. . . .
