USAFA Prep School Class of 2019 Appointment Thread

Polio & Tdap & Chicken Pox
He said they gave him the run around for an hour even though he had an appointment and explained to him why he was there. With paperwork explaining that certain shots must be administered 6 months prior to entry. Finally after an hour and a half of him persuading them he was able to be poked! :rolleyes:

The group works, make sure you click on the 'group' tab when looking for it. It has a picture of the chapel as the coverpage.

It's called USAFAPS '19, make sure you include the mark before the 19 haha
 
I told my DS about the Facebook Group he said he asked to join. He isn't big-time into Social Media, but I know he would like to get to know some of you before he gets there. I told him to mention the group to another young man from his High School who also got into Prep, but I don't "think" he is on this forum. Anyone receive their Bound Appointments yet? They are pretty sweet!

We weren’t expecting anything either! It’s very nice that the Preppies are also honored this way! My DS carried it with him all day yesterday lol he said last night as he set it up on his dresser - it makes me even more excited to get the one next year to move onto the Hill

That's the thing-I don't think they do anything for appointments to the Hill anymore. At least direct appointments were all done through email/ portal changes.
 
They still do! We thought the same thing but I have recently seen many kids posting on social media receiving their official BFE that are friends with my son
 
Youz guys have it easy. You're not really saying goodbye. Your kid will soon have access to a telephone, text messaging, Skype, facebook, Snapchat, yikyak, library computers and probably a dozen other ways to get in touch with you.

Not so long ago, kids didn't have access to any of that. And, think of the wars in the last century when snail (and boy was it!) mail was the only way. Oh how those families worried.

Today the kids aren't the only ones that demand instant gratification. Doolies and plebes being visited on weekends, parents visiting to do laundry, daily care packages, cakes, goody bags, etc. Mama and papas miss their lil puddin.

They'll be fine. It works. Your kid is special, but he/she will grow up and stand tall knowing "they" did it. Just give them a big hug, tell them to kick bass, and you'll see them on parent's weekend.
