NORWICH Laundry Services / ROTC/ Corps of Cadets

It does NOT cover the laundry or linen services.
While nice, they are not worth the money. If you are really set on getting them - don't. Give the child that money instead and let them do laundry as they please. This will allow them flexibility on when they get to do it, as well as be cheaper overall.
It is $1.75 for a wash, and another $1.75 for a dry. (Sort of a dry, they don't work the best) so $3.50 per load
As for linen, we have open air racks (meaning beds are stripped) on sundays so they will be able to wash linens then.
Dry cleaning is fair, I think the other day it was $11.75 for white trousers and a white dress shirt.
 
This solution may not work for everyone, but we started our son off with a hefty sack of quarters for the laundry machines. Instead he stocked up on cans of febreze and pocketed the difference. He saved a lot of time by not having to do laundry or dating.

Mom of a senior about to graduate and commision in the Marines, it's like any other college in that regards. It is up to them to figure out when and if they do laundry. No one will be checking to see if they have done it.
 
Laundry service at my DD's college was not near that expensive - you paid according to how many bags of clothes you had to wash each week. I paid for the service as between her studies, ROTC and other activities I thought her time could be better spent elsewhere.
I remember when she applied to USNA and they sent one of their senior company commanders by the house over Christmas break on a recruiting trip for the academy - the midshipman said that while she had lots of opportunities at the academy she would not have had elsewhere, one thing she never learned was to wash clothes as the academy handled that (for a charge) so the midshipmen could spend their time on other things. I agreed that was a good idea.

All of the laundry services combined are $1625.00!
If laundry is not included in the ROTC scholarship, then which laundry package do you use? Any? None?

Thank you for asking this question! I’m not sure what to do either. I’m thinking we use the laundry/linen service the first semester and see how it goes. I’m not as concerned with dry cleaning. DS can do that a piece at a time or bring it home over vacations.
 
DS plans to do his own and any fellow Rook that wants he will do theirs for $5... make some pocket change for real food! [emoji23]

DS did NROTC at South Carolina. We sent him with an ironing board and iron. He took in ironing to make some spending money. I think T-shirts were $.50 and collared shirts were $1.00. I think he undercharged! :D
 
My son did not do the laundry service. There was a fear that items might get "trapped" in the laundry when they were needed.
Do get the Cadet Cash Card to use on the barracks machines to avoid having to stock quarters.
You can sign up on Rook arrival day or your rook can go sign up later.
On a side note since my email is on file with the Bursar's office I get two emails for every load of laundry that he does.
Almost finished and finished. So, I can tell you he averages 3 loads a week.
