This is the wrong place to be asking these questions. If you are serious about SF you are going to need to be resourceful, meaning using the rest of the internet before asking a question that is only mildly related to the main topic of this website. This might be the off topic section, but I doubt many (if any at all) of the members here are SF officers that can answer these types of questions accurately.

Why is it the wrong place to be asking these questions? What is the topic of this site that service in the Navy as an officer is not related? Do you have a lot of SF experience to be making these statements?
People are welcome to ask what they want here without being bashed for it.

I'm not trying to bash him. I apologize if it came off that way. If he wants serious/accurate answers, there are much better places for him to ask these questions, as in SF dedicated forums full of current and former SF soldiers. I would link a few to point him in the right direction but not sure if that is allowed.

Best to go Sapper School before becoming SF. A few cadets a year get to go to Sapper (we have 1). Engineers have the most slots once you become a 2LT.
Yes. You'd still be a college student so you would have to fit the schools in during your summer break. Airborne, air assault and mountain warfare are some of the schools cadets can go to if selected. Spots for cadets aren't unlimited and these schools also have to train full time soldiers so I am sure it can get pretty selective. I have heard of some cadets getting the chance to go to combat dive school but I am sure that that is even more selective if even still possible.
