Glory Be--Helis is out
Was discussing Helis with our DS (2021) just last week. He said that, as awful as Helis was for USMMA, they couldn't just get rid of him without some SERIOUS infraction. More likely, he explained, would be for MARAD to "promote" him somewhere, where he would be someone else's problem.
And look at that.......

What was the problem with Helis? From a naive soon-to-be USMMA mom who isn't up on USMMA goings-on yet. . .

The good thing is that you don't need to know all the goings-on! There are repercussions from the last six years, but Adm Buzby has the situation firmly grasped and is righting the ship. So thankful for the change in command!

Reading between the lines this is basically being fired.

SESs can be re-assigned involuntarily and and being reassigned to a "special assistant" role which basically didn't exist until today is a non-firing firing. Frankly I don't know why they don't use this method to get rid of more senior bureaucrats.

Too long a list for this forum. A couple of major accomplishments are nearly losing academic accreditation and cancelling sea year. And don't even get me started on the way he royally screwed up on SASH "investigations" and the soccer team...

I did a little researching and found out a bit about soccer team and nearly losing academic accreditation. Did not read about kicking the alumni off campus so do tell, KPEngineer. . .

I should have mentioned the alumni. Kicking them out was a real travesty, especially considering how much they contribute to improving the school and midshipmen life. One of the first things ADM Buzby did when he took his position as head of MARAD was to reverse that decision.

Gonna be interesting to see who will be the next Supt. . . I know that there was no love lost for the Super during my tenure. . .
