VMI 2018-2019 New Cadet Handbook has been published

I wonder if I would have chosen VMI if they had forums, FB, and YouTube back in the day.

I showed up sight unseen. I had no idea about the Ratline.

I thought it was a somewhat regular college except we don’t have to choose what to wear everyday to classes, have classes Saturday morning, and everyone eats at the same time. [emoji4]

My son was recruited for football there. I fell in love with the place. Of course I'm not the one who would have had to endure the rigors of Keydet life. He didn't either as he said he "didn't want the military stuff."

He's now a captain in the 1st Marine Division and loving the military stuff.

I dunno- the school has gotten a lot more selective since my day - so I suspect that all of that media has not dissuaded too many from applying. I am though, frequently amazed at the kids who still show up there without much idea of what to expect- because you sure can see most of the experience on-line.

And then of course even when you have seen almost everything on-line, you still have no idea till you experience it. Bottom line: If a picture is worth a thousand words- then a “sweat party” is worth a million pictures. [emoji33]
