Good Morning Everyone,

I am wondering if we will be taking the CFA at AIM. I attended the Summer Seminar at the Air Force Academy and we did a workshop on CFA.

Can anyone give me insight based on last year or what they have seen?

Thank you

Elizabeth

Hey, just a reminder try not to put your name, And yes you will be doing the CFA at AIM, good luck! I know alot of people would want to be in your shoes right now, including me. I was waitlisted.

USCGA does not use the CFA. It uses the PFE, which has different components.

As for not making it into AIM, please don't let that discourage you. You should be receiving an email later this summer inviting you to Cadet for a Day. While AIM will give you a taste of Swab Summer, CFAD will put you into the day to day life of a cadet. Very different, but possibly more informative. Regardless which you attend, you will be evaluated.

cc.cg,
I did not mean to offend and I understand the policies of the board. When I address anyone, I am used to signing my name.

Also, I was turned down for Naval and Army summer programs. It is not easy being told no but I have doubled down on preparation. I hope what I have done over the summer and high school course work it is acceptable for the admissions to one of the academies. All we can do is our best and present ourselves for admissions.

I hope all the best to you on your goals.

Remember, acceptance to the summer program is not an true indication of competitiveness for the SA. Please keep your chin up -- good luck with your applications.

FMHS-79, you are exactly right. What I have done over the summer is Girls State, leading my Junior Auxiliary as president on bringing programs locally for our veterans, preparing physically for the CFA/PFE, working my part time job, writing my essays for nominations, getting my application ready for all academies and raising my ACT/SAT scores. My peers are working as hard as I am and it only makes me work harder.

I can only do my best. I hope my best but if not I want it to be a hard decisions to say no.
