Hello,

I will be a rising senior (class of 2019) and have signed up for SAT U.S History (October) at my local school and also SAT Korean (November, but as of now I'm planning on using this score for civilian colleges because im not sure if USCGA or USMA will accept it at that point).

Would sending/submitting U.S. History subject test score (prior to getting a score back) to USMA and USCGA hurt my application? Because I heard that USMA and USCGA mostly use subject tests (similar to systems they use for AP test score for class validation, etc,.), but I don't know if they even accept those scores.

Also, can I submit subject test scores on nomination?

Finally, can I still submit subject test scores after submitting my nomination applications (USMA)?

And very lastly, can I submit my subject test scores after my early action submission for USCGA? (sending scores after early action application submission)

I've taken ACT (will take again in September to see if i can get 1-2 points higher on my composite) and SAT Subject Test for Math level 2.

Thank you!

I don't think the subject scores will influence your SA app one way or the other.
But by all means include them with your nomination applications if the scores are favorable.

FYI some HS transcripts include SAT/ACT scores; check with your counselor to see what is shown on your transcript.

USMA does not formally consider SAT Subject Test scores - they will not contribute to your WCS score. They might have some subjective value in admissions or be used as an additional data point in placement. Your RC is your best source to determine if there is any value in your admissions packet.

Save your money! Don’t send subject tests to SAs. Doesn’t add any value to your WCS. Send to civilian colleges only if they require them. Once committed to enroll only APs and placement tests are used to determine your level.

Including civilian colleges higher SAT ACT trump subject tests. You will be far better off with 800 in SAT 36 ACT Math than 800 on Math 2 or 1. Likewise 800 in Verbal and 36 English Act. No SAs require subject tests. Likewise, don’t send ROTC subject tests.

However, most selective colleges suggest you submit 2 subject tests so I would do just that.

Thank you to all!

I think I will be sending Math subject test level 2 to SA's (just one test; and will be putting them as additional notes on nomination / applications) but will be using that and other subject tests on civilian colleges.

Thank you!
