…...and all unofficial WP social media is having a ball with it!
It's supposed to be in the high 90's at West Point on R-day (Monday). The Army bags with gear are every bit as large and heavy at the Navy bags. Who wishes to establish the betting odds that those new cadets won't get wheeled carts, or private Butler's to carry their bags? It’s a half mile from alumni to Bancroft. They’re carrying bags that the average plebe could fit into, filled to the brim with tons of stuff. Combine that with the temps creeping up into the mid 90s, you’d be looking at a lot of broken plebes or heat exhaustion cases on day 1. The carts are silly but better than the alternative.

Go Army!! Beat the "Cart Kids"!!
I wish they would issue a sea bag and then just wear them back to Bancroft. Then again I still use the bag I got on I day to haul my suits to the dry cleaners. I can tell it’s the I Day bag because it was so slanted and horribly written. Plebes don’t meet detailers until Bancroft now. New 2ndLts and Ensigns man most the stations along with civilian employees and medical personnel. ‘Back in the day’ we had detailers moving us through stations and ‘encouraging’ us along the way. That might have contributed to my panic in writting my last name!

My only question to this is, Why would anyone be a WP Fan? [emoji23][emoji23]We shouldn't give them such a hard time about the carts. After all, there is construction... and lots of stuff to carry... and heat...and time constraints...and the possibility someone might get overheated...
It's all in good fun. As WP fans we have to take our cracks when we get the chance.
Now, onto those sweet tennis shoes they get to wear all the time.
