I applied to West Point, got injured/turned down, so I'm going to reapply. However, I won a 4-Year AROTC scholarship, accepted it, and intend to participate in ROTC at my college. After I contract in the fall, can I still apply to USMA? Is anything preventing it?

No. You can reapply. It's very common. You might also be able to obtain an additional nomination through ROTC.

I'm sure I state the obvious, but I wouldn't go in bragging about acceptance and re-applying. Be humble. During an appropriate counseling session you can raise it with your adviser.

Be sure to open up your applicant/candidate file now on USMA website; if I read correctly you never received an appointment since an injury precluded it?

That is very different from a medical turnback where appointees get hurt and 'recycle' into the next class.

Did you receive a nomination last year? Make it to DoDMERB? Or did injury prevent even the CFA? In any case you have a path; need to take care of business and check all your boxes like any other applicant.

I tore a ligament, and it affected my performance on the CFA, and then got turned down by DoDMERB for a service academy. I did receive a congressional nomination.

and then got turned down by DoDMERB for a service academ

Are you clear on the fact that Army ROTC will not release your scholarship funds until you pass both DoDMERB and the APFT?

In other words, you gotta be prepared to pay for your first semester yourself if either factor is still a problem when school starts.

Receiving a nom., and being appointed are 2 different things.

I would 1st make sure that your DQ has no time limitations. IE, a DoDMERB exam is valid for 2 yrs., they may nail you again because they can't waive it for X amt of time.

You can't contract as others have stated until you get that waiver for your DQ. If it was me, I would move forward with reapplying, but at the exact same time I would make sure I have a waiver in hand for the DQ

I would also talk to the cadre and tell them you intend to reapply as a freshmen, so you can get an AROTC nom too.
