Found out about this little gem: USPS I FORMED DELIVERY!! Who knew ‍♀️

If available for your address, you receive a photo snapshot of mail coming to your box that day, first thing in the morning. I cannot express what a wonderful start to my day seeing a picture of a letter coming from my son is[emoji170].

Of course, there is the very functional element of the program, allowing one to monitor if a piece of mail is received or not. But to this momma, that part isn’t important. Knowing that I’m going to hear from my hero is what it’s all about for me!!

Simple to do: create an account on USPS.com, and sign up for the informed delivery option. I am really enjoying it.

Your message was serendipitous. I signed up and figured that is would take a week or more to get things going... we are talking about the Post Office. Instead, it literally took less than five minutes to sign up, and there was already mail scanned for delivery. The best part was that one is from the New Cadet. I can't wait to get to the mail box. Thanks again justdoit19!

I did it. I was able to immediately text Mrs. THParent and tell her that no less than THREE letters are coming today, from her pride and joy.

I am a GOD now, thanks to @justdoit19 !

It makes sense. Their automated equipment already scans every piece of mail, which they run through optical character recognition and it sorts for the delivery person. When you sign up, it just gives you access to these scans.

Very true! It seems to have gotten better in the six months I have used it though.
 
I told my wife that we were getting a letter from our son today and she said, "You checked the mail, but didn't bring it in?" When I told her about the Informed Delivery service, she refused to believe me. We went back a forth for a while, so I finally pulled out my phone and showed her the app. I was in the dog house for a while.
