I'm leaving for the University of Wyoming in two weeks to begin my Army ROTC training and I was looking for any last minute advice and wisdom before I go in! Everything is helpful!

I can't add too much to the above posts. It has been covered in different verbiage but, don't be last in anything.

I know what you mean writing this on a public venue, but remember, you aspire to be an officer of Soldiers. That carries much more responsibility. To whom much is given, much is expected. When I made Chief in the USN, I quickly realized the nature of servant leadership. Those who say "they have people
working for them" are bass ackwards. Leaders work for their subordinates. One mantra is Mission First. But guess what, if it were not for the people, the mission could not get done.
My son is the CO of a unit in the 1st Marine Division and has gone to bat for his people to the point of almost getting [blanked] upon himself. Fortunately his reputation keeps him away from the wrath of the colonel. Remember leadership means "We is greater than me."
