I know this information must be somewhere in the forums, but I've spent an hour searching and reading posts and can't find anything other than that he won't need PT gear or a swimsuit. Is it helpful for him to have his laptop for class time? A notebook and pencil? Thanks in advance.

As always, my advice is to read every page, dropdown and link in USNA.edu, especially for the candidates. Most answers are there, at the primary source.

A small notebook and pen gets my vote over a laptop, even a small one, going light and lean.

What do the instructions directly from USNA say? Can’t imagine they’d be hosting CVWs without providing the necessary information.

Leave the laptop at home. My DS took PT gear and ran with them both mornings, but did not need a swim suit. They issue a list of things to bring and not bring, as the date gets closer.

I'd personally recommend a notepad with paper and a pen, and PT gear if they want to workout with their MID. Also to piggy back off of mte09876 snacks are amazing!

DS took a sleeping bag and used it. One of those ones that squish down into almost nothing and went in his carryon duffle bag. Not one of the great big thick huge ones. I would think that would be a pain to transport (we didnt have one, put the word out on Facebook and borrowed...). I think it was even in the packing list?

It says sheets/linen on the list I have, but I figured a sleeping bag would be much easier. I wasn't sure if they want bed sheets so that we make our beds like the Mids, or if that was just a suggestion.

Sleeping bag is easier for sure. Your most likely going to be on a cot so they wouldn’t expect you to make your bed like a mid.

Our MID went to a CVW last year. He had such an amazing time that he said if he were appointed and had the chance, he would love to host a prospective student (drag) on their CVW. Well that time has come, and he is looking forward to hosting a drag starting this Thursday.
His advise was to bring PT stuff and swimsuit just in case. Every company is different, and every MIDNs schedule is different with regards to classes, spot s period, ECAs...so every drag will have a slightly different experience. Just be open, ask questions that you may have, and have some fun. My son and his roommates said, they are ‘gettin’ the room ready...’

DS is there and should be meeting his Host right about now. Sitting here in my recliner and can not wait to hear the stories of this experience!

I sent two dozen brownies that were promptly devoured. And he brought a sleeping bag but just slept on the floor with nothing apparently. Who knows why.

Excited for you @Dino10 ! Puts a smile on my face. Times full of wonderment!!
