Letter of Recommendation

I saw a spot to upload a letter of rec on the portal. Should I seek one and submit it or is it a waste of time/effort?
 
What do you mean by "letter of rec on the portal"? Is it for a SOE or something for college/enlisted applicants?
 
My general rule of thumb is if the application/admissions office/RC has not specifically asked me for something, they don't need it

If you can obtain a good letter or more than one from a school administrator, a scout leader, a coach, or another official in your life than yes, by all means upload it. The option would not be there if they weren't interested and it carried no weight. It worked for us...
