Should this be listed as employment?

This might sound silly or fictitious to some adults but I have an Instagram page that is basically a fanpage for a video game and have a massive amount of followers. Advertising agencies contract me to post advertisments for various apps or merchandise. (I've made a few thousand dollars.) Would this be something to include under employment?

Not silly at all.

I would listed as "your own business." Just make sure you adhere to income tax rules and licensing etc.
It shows initiative, creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Years ago, it was analogous to mowing lawns or having a paper route.

Should I mention that I will cease the business if I received appointment?

Hmm....do you think it would be a good idea to keep mowing lawns as a plebe?

Can you convince a member of congress that you are giving 100% of your time and energy toward becoming the best coast guard officer possible while running an internet business while you receive a taxpayer paid education as an active duty USCGA cadet?

I think you get the essence of my answer to your question.

Good luck.

I may have worded that poorly. Of course if I received appointment I would cease the business. I was wondering if I should include that in my essay or would it be assumed.

Your essay should focus on answering the prompt. When in doubt, go back to the prompt and re-read it. If you are not addressing the prompt, you are not accomplishing the task.

It should also convey the fact that you will give 100% of your effort, time and energy toward becoming a Coast Guard officer. If in the course of this point you can naturally and organically mention the termination of your enterprise, then you should do so.

I hope this helps.

Seeing as you are prohibited from using social media during your swab summer and 4th class year, if you were to receive and accept an appointment, you ceasing your involvement with an IG business is a given.
