The Blue Baron, I am so happy you joined the forum, the old timers have a new "whipping boy" to pass the time while they sip their coffee, read the forum, and collect their retirement checks:)

Best post I have seen in a very long time!
Is this person real?
Am I real? What prompted your question?

Not certain, but I think that @ginapenny was referencing @The Blue Baron
Yes I was referring to blue Baron. I've seen some threads on here that were from what they called "trolls" so I was hoping that wasn't the case. My apologies. @Hoodlum15

I agree ginapenny was referencing The Blue Baron

xposted with ginapenny.

I will say though in reading this thread I have learned a great deal!!!!! My DS is a candidate and reading the responses have really been great!!! I certainly appreciate them!! Thank you!

He is not a troll. Just an eager young man who is going a thousand miles an hour after discovering the USAFA and needs to slow down, take a deep breathe and focus on the closest tasks at hand. No one is telling him he can’t do it or he won’t do it. Not our place. Heck, I hope in a year or two we see he did it. But when we see so much energy spent on asking about triple majoring and has a 400+ SAT score, there needs to be some focus on a long term plan to USAFA and AFROTC. Step one is proving himself academically. Honestly no one cares he didn’t apply himself. The only way to change that isn’t by saying he didn’t apply himself as that is excuse and no one cares in this process about those, but to show consistent academic performance in tough classes in high school and college along with improving your SATs. That will take time and consistency. As mentioned by another poster, he needs to reach out to his ALO and create a plan. This is probably going to be more than a 1 year effort. Also with those SAT scores doing an assessment and really putting a study plan together (if financially possible with a tutor) to make progress. Best of luck to the OP.

Blue Baron,

I think you need to dial it back with your responses.

I say this with the utmost kindness, but you are now on the verge of pushing the limits. Not every posts needs you to respond, sometimes you need to walk away.
~ IE the BOO, or the glad I made an impact on veteran's lives.
~~ FWIW, hoodlum gave great advice and I applauded him for his succinct reply while giving you a positive response. My response was to hoodlum, and had nothing to do with you personally. You took it the wrong way.
~ Intonation over the net is hard to understand. Your response of Glad I made an impact (impact is not a proper noun) or could be seen as a condescending remark to those that have served.

You are not 17, but closer to 21. Poster will start seeing you as a troll, unless, you pull it back a notch.

Few years back this site ate posters like you as a snack before dinner believing they were a troll. The site has changed in their quick to judge response, but if you continue on this path in your responses, you may find the responses regarding your posts to become more vitriolic

Glad I made an Impact on our veteran's lives.

@The Blue Baron, careful about biting the hand that feeds you. You’ve received some great perspective here, especially from @Hoodlum15, @Pima and @NavyHoops. Your comment, whether sarcastic or not, betrays a lack of appreciation. They’ve paid their dues, on which their sage advice is based.

One thing you never want to be at an SA is that guy. It’s a surefire way to attract “attention” from detailers and upperclassmen, and to lose the respect of your fellow plebes. As if SA life isn’t hard enough. Going by how you present yourself on this forum, you’d definitely be that guy at USAFA.

Are you a “whipping boy,” as @BRRRRRRRT suggests? Maybe. But better a whipping boy on this forum than in the military.

@Hoodlum15 I'm not sure u saw my correction but was speaking of blue baron. I'm very appreciative of your answer and found it quite informative!!! Thank u very much!!!!

I want you to all know I appreciate your advice, kindness and consideration.
I've learned a lot from you guys in the little more than a week I have here.
I am and will continue to follow your advice:
"Focus on your writing skills and the SAT/ACT. "
"One thing at a time." That allowed me to give my best at both Biology and Chemistry Labs today and The Chem Exam. Was the first to finish exam and quiz between other things. And the blocking and tackling helped us finish the experiments 1st while giving us enough time to help the others with the data.

This weekend I will dedicate a couple of hours to the SAT (and also next week's Biology exam).

Have a good weekend.

~ B.B.
