I've never really thought about going to a service academy seriously until about about a few weeks ago, and im going to be a junior in highschool in september. The thing is, i've never really tried that hard in school, had a few honors classes in junior high, but then went back to normal classes in high school, and have been managing about a 90 average for the past 2 years. Is it still possible for me to get into the USNA if i step it up this year and my senior year, or is there nothing i can really do?

You're fine grades wise but they look at what they call the "whole person" concept, so what else do you do: sports, team captain, eca's, scouts, etc...

That's what makes the difference. In addition, are you from a competitive area like NY, VA/DC/MD, San Diego, etc... that can make a difference too.

Well i did sports all year round in 7th and 8th grade (they didnt allow freshmen in junior high to do sports) but didnt do any in my freshmen year of highschool. I did track in the winter and spring and plan on doing cross country along with track all year round for the rest of my highschool career. I've been playing the violin for 8 years and plan on doing it until i leave highschool.

Plus I like in New York, and plan on doing volunteer work this summer and next summer, and am thinking of applying for the honor society.

Apply to the honor society. It shows that you take initiative academically. As far as the violin goes, are you in a school orchestra? Extra-circulars are important to the whole-person concept, even non-athletic ones. See if you can letter in track or cross-country.
