I've just found that my dodmerb status is DQ (D155.41 Distant visual acuity not correctable to 20/20 in each eye). Can anyone advise me what to do at this point? I'm qualified by both USNA and USMA. I'm little confused. I learned from other posts that the academy initiates the waiver process. I just want to make sure. Thank you for any help you can offer!

DS went through the process a couple times. The academy will do the review process if they choose and then notify you of the next steps. Be patient and ready to reply with anything they will request. Good thing you’re hearing about it now as it can drag out. DS was DQ’d in March for a sports injury and it was finally resolved literally days before reporting

I believe the Coast Guard has more stringent vision requirements for their applicants so passing one service academy DoDMERB doesn't necessarily mean you'll pass the Coast Guard standard. For example, I believe color blindness is a DQ, for example.
