Does anyone have experience or knowledge regarding doing a double major with ROTC? I would likely choose EE/CS and Business/Econ. I do understand it would be a lot of credits to fulfill this, but I was just wondering if it is an option, or even doing a Business/Econ. minor.

I doubt that it is possible to double major with an engineering degree and a non-engineering discipline, or even to get a non-engineering minor, at most universities - not even taking ROTC commitments into account. The engineering curriculum must conform to national accreditation standards, which have so many required classes that there is very little room for other subjects; and at most schools, much of your non-engineering coursework will be taken up with general education requirements common to all students. Your mandatory ROTC classes will also have to be squeezed in. I suppose it is possible that there are universities which don't place a limit on how many units you an take in a semester, so perhaps it would be theoretically possible to do so. It would also be counterproductive, and I can't imagine that anyone would encourage you to even try. Combining engineering with ROTC is challenging enough, and you will be far better off getting good grades with a normal course load than struggling to keep up with a heavy overload. You can always pick up an MBA once you have started your career.

Double majors with engineering and business are totally possible. Lehigh Univ. is an example, they have a specialized program called IBE (Integrated Business & Engineering) that combines the two. One of my kids got a degree in CS/Finance there. I would encourage any kid looking at engineering and business to take a hard look at Lehigh. Great school!

Unless a school has already set up a path for a double major I doubt it

A minor is more doable

Scholarship can only pay for one degree. If you can earn 2, 3 or more degrees during the time it takes you to earn one degree then no one cares. We usually have a Cadet or two that finishes with more than one engineering degree. You are expected to graduate with a degree on time and commission. If you don’t then expect to pay for the rest of the schooling it takes to graduate.

My daughter's boyfriend (not ROTC) somehow managed to get 3 degrees with a total of 4 majors in a 4 year period. Not sure why other than he appears to be an over achiever. He was also president of a fraternity and a cheer leader, so a lot of things can be done, just not sure why one would want to...
