Currently my daughter is a Junior and plans to apply to CGA next summer (2019) for entrance in July 2020. Regarding the DODMERB, is it comprised of a questionnaire and a physical? Does family history impact a candidates review... I have a genetic heart condition, but my daughter does not. She has been screened for it multiple times (recommendation from specialist), but always negative. Could this disqualify my daughter from Academy consideration?

My son just finished the physical exam. The questionnaire did not ask for family history only if he personally had problems. But they start out every question with "Do you currently have or have a history of?" And then for every yes, be prepared to put a date to the event and a Dr. name and address going back since birth! We are now waiting for the vision exam portion. I don't know how long it will take to hear anything.

Probably not a disqualification since she doesn't have it. The only way DODMERB would know about it is a question that asks if she's been "consulted, or been treated by doctors, clinics, etc... for other than minor illnesses." I forget the exact wording. You're probably going to have to say "yes" to that question if she's went to the doctor to get checked for a genetic condition.

Hopefully, it's not a genetic heart condition like Brugada syndrome or short QT syndrome because people die of that suddenly.

Thanks for your input.
