Consequences for lying on the application

My cousin and I just had this discussion about consequences for not being truthful on the medical history/ application. I could not recall the consequences since my son applied 2 years ago. (My son was very honest on his application which costed him his early acceptance. But he is a happy camper now as a sophomore, Physics/ engineering student.) Does anybody remember it on the Dobmers application? Thank You

Well, when it's found out he lied, which could be in 10 days or 10 years, he would most likely be tossed from the program. All military need security clearance and they'll interview people you wold never even think of to go over your background. I've been contacted twice to comment about neighbors. Plus one will be looking over their shoulder for that period of time. Lying is definitely not worth it.

The worst consequence would be to get kicked out from SA or AD because the truth was eventually revealed. How painful would it be to endure three years of SA life (rewards notwithstanding), only to be told you can’t be commissioned because a physical exam revealed something that should have been made clear much earlier. That’s a dream deferred — and one hell of a consequence

Would the military try to recoup the tuitions, scholarships.....? I like to present the facts to my cousin.

They may. Certainly if he's a cadet or midshipmen, or hasn't served his required time for payback of the scholarship, they will.
