If you had to give a few tips or things to be prepared for when it comes to these interviews what would they be? Thanks!

Have your elevator speech ready for the answer to the question, “Tell me about yourself”.

Prepare two or three open ended questions. Ending with a genuine discussion will set you apart from other candidates. Know a thing or two about the goings-on of the world and how the military is involved. If asked a question about the morality of certain actions, respond with your thoughts and not what you think the panel may want to hear.

Be confident and have fun.

  1. Practice with a knowledgeable adult beforehand.
  2. Dress professionally appropriately for your area (New York vs Hawaii business professional).
  3. Don't blurt your answers.....think for a moment before delivering a well thought-out response.

Be yourself. Let the person asking the question finish then take a pause think about what you want to say look them in the eye and make them think they are the most important person (they are at that time)! Answer the question. be ready for the pregnant pause. hat is when you are done answering there is a silence and you feel you need to fix the silence and say something. DO NOT! Wait for the next question. Be ready for the odd questions.
File is from an old post.

My favorite advice is to not show up in sandals and board shorts, smelling like Don Julio and bad choices.
