Recruiter told me they haven’t selected a school yet but will send further information in the coming weeks. Fingers crossed it’s my number one choice but still haven’t been accepted yet. Waiting is just a way of life

Great news, what school?

Dang dude my recruiter called me yesterday saying that the District Capt. called him to his office without saying anything else... Does it say so online too? My recruiter has been hush-hush about things.
Congrats by the way!

@Marathon86, @abbyad01, @Lucas40, and all lurkers: I am not here to pick nits, but I want to offer some perspective and commentary.

First off, Marathon's posting is exceptionally early. Good on you. But you others should not be concerned. This is a long process and could go until May 1, 2019. My DS (like Marathon86) got a call from a NCO he was working with about the scholarship but I cautioned him to wait until he saw it in writing (the portal and the official letter) which came weeks later. This counsel came from my personal experience in the service and is good advice for anyone in the military. So, Marathon86, be wary until you see it in an official document. Other applicants shouldn't consider themselves behind the curve just yet. The first board results will come out officially in week 3 of December and there is still another board.

Secondly, I am having a hard time reconciling reported PFT achievement with reported scores. I will leave it to the posters or others to comment but some of the reported scores don't match the performance levels.

Lastly, some of the class ranks, ACT scores and other data don't necessarily point to a first board scholarship. That doesn't mean that there isn't a chance. You have applied, the decision rests with the USMC at this point. Relax and focus on other options.

Just a suggestion. Do NOT do more than 20 pull ups or 100 sit ups. There are no extra points for being above the max, unlike Army. You end up burning energy that could better be used in the run. The effects of these things are cumulative. I'm actually surprised the tester allowed you to go beyond the max.

I guess some recruiting stations are alerted earlier than others. My recruiter told me they should be sending out all official packets with school assignments for everyone picked up on early board in the coming weeks.

Sir I completely understand what you mean and it makes complete sense, however one of the officers who did one of my interviews told me to go above and beyond if I can. He told me that although the extra reps don't add extra points, the selection board can still see the specific scores. Once again, I completely understand what you mean!

As a high school baseball and football player who had a son that wrestled all four years, I'm admittedly biased towards the skills, drive & determination that wrestlers bring to the table but I'd take you *yesterday* with those stats. Good luck to you.

Thank you sir! should be finding out the results soon.

Question: does each district get a select number of acceptances or is it nation wide?

All the ROTC scholarship programs are nationwide. Geography (political or otherwise) has no bearing on who is awarded a scholarship.

Congratulations on your scholarship! I was also on the early board. I am still waiting to hear back about anything, and both my recruiter and officer have been very hush-hush. My stats are as follows, for anyone curious:
-4.34 GPA, 33 ACT. Rank 16/385. 10 AP courses.
-300 PFT (24 pullups, 115 crunches, 17:51 3 mile)
-3 school honor society/club presidencies, SGA, other various leadership positions
-Boys State and Alabama Governor school
-Multiple varsity letters in track, cross country, and swim team
-Some volunteering with different organizations.

Somewhat nervous knowing that results are starting to go out and I haven't heard anything, but I am excited! I am hoping to use my scholarship, if i were to be awarded one, at Boston University.
Does anyone know how the medical process works, especially for waivers?
