Hey, USMA 2023 candidate here.
I received my LOA about 3 weeks ago!
I’m a recruited athlete, passed my CFA, received a congressional nomination, but i’ve been DQ for asthma:(
My asthma isn’t really a problem. It’s not exercise induced, it doesn’t usually act up but sometimes it does from allergies. An athlete’s admissions officer has notified me that DODMERB wants me to take an MCCT test. I’m concerned about this, considering what i’ve heard about false positives and such. I also plan to take a PFT to prove that my asthma is not an issue. Any words of advice? I’ve heard some people have been granted waivers regardless of MCCT failures.

Thanks so much

I have asthma ... thankfully my son didn’t get it from me. So I wish you all the best.

I would stay away from dairy before any tests ... and breathe in eucalyptus and steam beforehand. Certainly take antihistamines or asthma medicine before the test, if allowed.
