Nomination no interview

There are lots of reasons.... 10 applicants or less so everyone who applies gets a nom. Too many to interview so they do it all based on paper applications... One Senator handles interviews and and the other Senator selects from the list of top applicants (have seen that one happen). There is nothing that requires an interview. A MOC can run their process any way they see fit.

Was your MOC's term ending on January 3 (not re-elected or didn't run)? That's what happened to me. My Congressman had always done interviews until this year. I didn't hear anything from his office concerning interviews and I got worried. They gave out noms without interviews for the first time this year because of term-end staff changes and transitions. If you got one, no reason to worry about it.

I got a nom last month from my MOC without an interview. They simply told me when I called them that I had all the right qualifications..so yeah

what was the reason you called them?

I wanted to ask them if the nomination applied to USMA. The nomination hadn't shown up in my USMA portal and I wanted to make sure that I didn't have to secure another nomination for that one school

DS received a nomination from Gowdy to USNA. A few days ago he checked his portal for USAFA, and there was one from Timmons. He didn’t fill out an application nor interview with Timmons nor receive anything notifying him of this. Timmons took Gowdy’s seat in SC; however, I’m unsure how this process works when one leaves and another begins, but we’re thankful for the Nom! We thought maybe Gowdy’s transferred to Timmons, but in the USNA portal it says he has a nomination from Gowdy, and the USAFA says he has a nomination from Timmons, and West Point shows no nomination. Continuing to wait as everything is in!

Nomination submissions may have crossed during office passing so Timmons may be from Gowdy but reflects current office holder?
