I finished my interview with one of my senators and the nominating board was the same three people as last year. They indicated that they remembered me, welcomed me back, and interviewed me for maybe 5 minutes.

Of course, they may have just wanted to get through all their interviews in a timely manner, and they already had all my responses to their questions from last year and only asked for updates. But I’m curious if any other reapplicants had this experience with their MOC interviews the second time around.

My DS had a similar experience this year. Felt all 3 were better interviews though much shorter and more pointed to “What have you done since last year?” Since he is at a maritime academy and applying to USMMA again he said they were all very encouraging. And 2 of the boards were the same panel. His junior Senator panel was probably his favorite. Was a phone interview and 1 was a USMMA grad, the other graduated from his maritime academy and they chatted about the Commandant who DS had just shared his flight home at Thanksgiving with on Southwest. Hi- DS is a reapplicant and made similar comment. He didn’t get interview with Warren but Markey he said was exact same. He didn’t even need to go for interview for Congressman bc getting back from school for their timeline didn’t work, so they said no worries.

I have been staying away from these boards & trying not to let my thoughts wander, but this weekend got me curious. I remember PM you last year USMAJY. Congrats on your appointment!
