Just my opinion, mind you.

This movie was awful. I like Jason Mamoa (Mrs. THParent thinks he's "dreamy") but holy cow this movie was bad. He should go and commiserate with Ryan Reynolds. This was every bit as bad as "Green Lantern".

Save yourselves. Don't go to see this movie. Not even for free.

A bit confusing for me in terms of the story line. Hard to follow.

Too much CGI. Lots of sensory stimuli that confused this guy getting up there in years (and I’m only in my 40s!). That underwater battle was too chaotic. Didn’t know who was on who’s side. Why couldn’t we go back to battle scenes like in Spartacus or Braveheart?

I’d see it again- but it has to be free and someone has to pay for the popcorn and drink (a strong drink).

That's unfortunate. Those Marvel origin movies seem to be hit or miss. I was grossly disappointed with Black Panther last year. Heard so much good about it, but didn't realize it was pretty much a rehash of Thor, just more illogical (somehow) than Norsemen living in space.

I'd imagine Aquaman is at least more coherent than The Last Jedi, though, right? Nobody was pulling a Mary Poppins in a vacuum, I hope.
 
Aquaman is part of the DC universe. When I was a kid, EVERYONE I knew made fun of DC. Let's not get that mixed up with the superior Marvel universe. They aren't in the same league*.

Come on!


* Let's not get started on Justice League. Pfffft!

LOL, I assumed it was Marvel. Ha! I didn't read amy DC beyond Superman and Batman. Everything else DC was pretty lame.
 
Both my grandsons are all about DC and Marvel and get on me big time when I conflate the two.
 
The difference between DC and Marvel is, DC came up with everything first.
 
I prefer Superman and Batman (DC) and Spider-Man (marvel).

My son prefers all the marvel crap.

We saw the trailer for aqua man and both thought it wasn’t worth going to. Glad we didn’t.

Gal Gadot is the best. Ever.

Respectfully disagree.
IMO, DC lived in the 40 & 50s, while Marvel embraced the cultural revolution of the 60s and 70s.
DC tried to play catch up, but never really succeeded. Marvel always had an edgier dynamic, while DC remained more milk toast.
Marvel was definitely the more progressive of the two and pushed the edge of the envelope, embracing the concept of the antihero, societal unrest, and cultural change much more effectively than DC.
I like both for their respective merits, but as a kid who consumed the product in the 60s and 70s, Marvel will always be the more relevant of the two.
 
DC created the anti hero in Doom Patrol. Marvel copied it with X-Men. DC had Darkseid and Marvel copied him (poorly) with Thanos. DC has Deathstroke Slade Wilson and Marvel copies him with Deadpool Wade Wilson.

Marvel has been good at making moving and flooding comic book stores with trash.

Please do not start a thread about the US and China, or N. Korea and the US. I would hate to see the results!!!
 
Maybe it's just me, but I thought Aquaman looked like The Undertaker from WWE. It really broke my immersion. 1/7.
