I’m not entirely sure that is always true.

In NY ... Gillibrand had hers out early. As did our MOC.

Schumer waits until the end ... but he is extremely selective who he interviews. We know people with 1450 SATs with top academics ... one had an LOA to Naval, another had LOE to USMA (well rounded apps - great athletes and leadership etc). Neither got an interview with Schumer.

I cannot imagine Schumer interviews anyone that doesn’t already have at least one nom.

I actually did call, but the person in charge was unavailable. It’s only 3 more days. “Only.”

Ugh, three days seems like an eternity now. The wait for everything is killing me but its part of the process. Good luck to you!
 
I received a nomination from Mark Sanford in December. I heard that Tim Scott didn’t give them until March. Being that I have an LOA, should I contact Tim Scott’s secretary to have my name pulled from the potential nominations? I don’t want to possibly take another candidates spot.

DS got a nomination letter from Congressman Sanford a few months ago. He hasn’t heard back from Senator Scott or Senator Graham’s office but a YES under nomination appeared in his portal shortly after interviewing with Senator Scott and he hadn’t interviewed with anyone else at that point.

Last year, he got a letter in the mail, then his portal updated. Days before he got his letter, he heard of noms given to some of his friends, so he thought he wasn't getting one, but it turned out he got a P nom. This year, he got an email, then a letter in early December.
He is at the Prep School, so he had to apply for a nomination again this year. He will be with the Class of 2023!
 
Curious development...
DD received an email today from USMA admissions congratulating her on her nomination. However, she only had noms to USAFA and USNA from our congressman, not to West Point.

She logged in to her USMA portal and it shows a nom posted today from Senator Harris. She has had literally zero incoming communication from the office. No interview request, no response to her verbal and email inquiries, no congratulatory call, nothing. Just the unexpected nomination out of the blue.

We are thrilled for her; a senatorial nom from CA is a big deal. It is just that the circumstances are so very odd.

Did you get it in the mail?

I would guess that Schumer doesn’t give primary noms ... my son was told by Schumer’s office that the candidates were all tops.
