Well guys, I am pretty much done with my application and nominations (except for the interview and CFA). I just want to thank all of you for your sage advice on much of the process. Especially Mr. Mullen, Christcorp, hornetguy, and all the rest of you that have answered my posts. You guys were particularly helpful to give me some extra info. If I get in or not, I really appreciate all the time and help that you give all the future applicants on this site. I wish all the 2014 applicants good luck on the rest of the process. I really hope that I will see you all next year. Now the hard part begins: the waiting.

Good Luck and Thank you all,

Brian Andre

Nice! Good luck to you! I really hope that I see you there in a couple of years! Your doing great! There is no reason why you shouldn't get in! Good luck to you man!

Hey cool, we are both at 50 posts Drew. I guess that means that we are official SA forum members. Just Kidding!

Good Luck

Wow, congrats. I'm about halfway finished with mine... still have the CFA, interview, transcripts (my school hasn't finished updating the class ranking yet, so they can't send it in), 2 of 3 teacher evaluations, and writing sample. I can't think of an ethical dilemma I've faced for the life of me.

Haha now we both have 51!! lol But how did you manage to get it in so fast?

Way to go Brian!! I still have the CFA and interview(this sat:) to finish. Im about half way done with the other nom apps. Yes the waiting will be the hardest part! lol haha 51 posts also! lol

I started on the very first day it opened, and I have been working around the clock. I think I was on the phone for about 2 hours yesterday with various people (senator/congressman offices, evaluation/recommendation people, ALO, Admissions Counselor, and even Collegeboard. I do still have the interview and CFA to complete, so it is really not completed.

I wish you luck on the rest of your application armybratkl.

Thanks guys,

Brian Andre

Were you just confiming things? Or have I missed somthing huge? I have not really needed to speak with that many people during my process.

Yes that is about it. I like to tell the staffers at the offices whenever I am sending them something, so I was calling to tell them that the recommendation letters should arrive shortly and also to ask a few last questions and follow up on the rest of my application. Admissions Counselor to confirm that my transcripts and schedule had been processed. ALO to set up an appointment. Collegeboard to confirm that scores were sent and should arrive shortly. I guess I am just kind of obsessed. I like to keep tabs on everything that is going on.

Good Luck

Brian Andre

Hey, how come I can't edit previous posts anymore? I wanted to also thank pima for all of his help and questions answers.

Thanks

When did you first contact your congress personel?

Thanks for the thanks, but there was no need, we all want to make sure the best candidates get into the SA's.

Luigi is right, I am a girl, or more importantly Bullet's other half.

Pima: Oops my bad. Sorry, I should have figured that out from the other posts. I just never put two and two together, but I really do appreciate your help. Now I kind of feel like an idiot.

TN and Luigi59: Thanks for the tip, I wasn't sure about the rules on editing a post.

Drew: I first contacted my congressman a little over a month ago (I think it was the beginning of June or end of May).

Thank you all (also for your corrections)

Brian Andre

you got your congressional nomination already? I was under the impression that most offices don't do that until about september or november though...

No he has a Presidential, so that is why he has a nom. He stated in an earlier thread he still has his interview(s) to do. If I recall from previous yrs, CA is usually in the Nov/Dec time frame. If you pull up the old threads of apptd you can see when the bulk come out for your state. I remember, one kid a couple of yrs ago was from Indianna, Terre Haute, but knew they were in earlier than the other Indiana candidates since he was the ONLY nom on the slate. The MOC handed it in with just 1.

IT is also very important to remember that you can be the 1st to hand in from your MOC slate, but no apptmt is given until every nom on the slate has a WCS

Yes, pima is correct. I have a presidential nomination, but I have also applied for nominations from senators, congressmen, and VP.

Dang on top of it! I still gotta wait for school to start before I can get ahold of some teachers and my transcript. The anxiety is killing me :(

Don't worry the board does not meet until October, whether your file is complete or not, no appts will be given out, right now it is LOA's that will be going out. Since you do not have a presidential, your file will not be reviewed until you have a nom. Most states do not even close their applications until mid Oct. It is very important not to rush it, and create the best packet that you can, not the fastest packet.
