Does anyone know what uniform the newly minted Plebe Candidates will be wearing in September for Acceptance Day?

That's the uniform with the "regular" type collar, and not the "chocker" type collar correct?

Is there a link or site where we could view each of the uniforms they will be wearing while at The Academy?

Yes

My son 2012 just got choker about 6 weeks ago. You do not have one to start with, just the white shirt.

Correct. Regular collar. Choker whites you won't see til graduation. My husband wore his choker whites for parades and such but son says we won't see his til graduation. (with the exception of maybe formal dances?)
You will see your plebe in summer whites and khakis on parent weekend. Khakis are the uniform they wear most days to school and for watch. Then when you pick them up for Christmas break they will wear their winter blues. You will see that one also in the Plebe pictures that you will have a chance to purchase later.
All I have to say is there is nothing like a man in uniform!

Maybe the policy has changed? Two of the Midshipmen that attended our state's "Plebe Icebreaker" , prior to INDOC, wore the "choker". I think one was a rising senior and the other a rising junior ..... Ooops! I mean rising 1st Classman and rising 2nd Classman.... gotta get with the program! :thumb:

My son is counting on the fact that he uniform will be a chick magnet....

No rush but one step at a time and he can show off his uniform in the spring after recognition and when they be more priveledges.

Funny story! (my son would KILL me if he knew I told so shhhhh!)
My daughter and I attended parent weekend/recognition day (dad was at sea) and part of the weekend is their first liberty. Plebes must wear their uniforms off campus as well so when we took off to Manhattan on the LIRR we were in a sea of summer whites! As we wandered around the city my daughter and I first noticed the "chick magnet" appeal of these uniforms! My daughter counted 13 girls that took cell phone pics of my son! It helped that he was wearing his Ray Ban Aviators looking much more handsome than Tom Cruise ever could! (biased opinion!) We heard whispers of "is he in the navy?" "isn't he hot?" "look at him"
You will notice that your plebe walks taller and prouder when you next see him/her. They have just completed the first phase of digging down and bringing out their very best self. They will be men/women and you will be SO PROUD!

Uniforms

From Academy Web Site:
Uniforms
Midshipmen generally wear one of four classes of uniform while on Academy grounds. The wearing of civilian clothes, traditionally known as being in "mufti" or "civvies", is a class privilege. (For example, fourth classmen must go on liberty in Service Dress Blue or Summer White, while other midshipmen may wear civilian clothes.) First classmen may wear civvies in the barracks after 1600. General uniform are described below:

Working Uniforms. Known as the Uniform of the Day (UOD), this is the core uniform that midshipmen wear. This uniform varies by season. During the warm weather months, midshipmen wear Service Khakis, comprised of a short-sleeve shirt, long pants, black shoes, and a garrison or "fore and aft" cap. Officers wear the traditional "high pressure cover", so-called because of its tight fit around the head. During cold weather months, the UOD changes to Winter Blue, which includes a heavier black long-sleeve shirt and pants, black shoes, and a black garrison cap or white high-pressure hat. Topcoats include the convoy coat in winter, or the A-Jacket in spring and fall.
Service Dress. This is the equivalent of a business suit, and is worn for more important occasions such as special dinners, job interviews, parades, and inspections. The most recognized service dress uniform is Service Dress Blue, which includes a black suit coat (with sleeve stripes signifying rank), black pants, white shirt, and black neck tie. During warm weather months, there are Service Dress Whites, known as "chokers" due to the high collar on the men's uniform, and Summer Whites, similar to the Service Khaki, but in white. (In each of these instances, women may replace the pants with a skirt.)
Formal or Dinner Dress. Worn during formal occasions such as the June Ball or Christmas Ball, formal dress uniforms are comparable to black tie in the civilian world. Short coats, black bow ties, and gold cummerbunds for men, and long skirts and frilled shirts for women are hallmarks of these distinctive uniforms. The dinner dress jacket is white in the summer and black in the winter, while the pants (or skirt) and shoes are always black.
Other. These include physical training or PT gear, coveralls, and other uniforms for specialized occasions.
In addition to uniforms, midshipmen wear different insignia (to indicate class and major), designators (to reflect their enrollment in the Naval Reserve or one of the service specific "military option" programs), and ribbons (which represent personal decorations, unit commendations, and service awards).

as far as chokers are concerned there's pretty much a max of 6 times where you'll wear them while at KP.
june ball all 4 years (if you make it to all of them), ring dance, and your own graduation.
the uniform can indeed do wonders for attracting girls, but you'll find that the appeal wears off for most after plebe year. jeans and a t-shirt are much more desireable than whites for going out.
you'll be amazed how much of the weirdness makes total sense to you all within the next few months.

Christmas and June Ball

So do the Plebes or Midshipmen get to invite girlfriends to the balls? Both or neither?

Yes, they can invite their girlfriends to these events, it is encouraged to make sure to invite all of her female friends as well and all of their female friends and any other females they can find on the way.

THe more formal events such as June Ball and for seniors Ring Dance are usually a bit more set in who is coming and everyone pretty much has a designated date for those. The others throughout the year tend to be more "mixer" type.

Not a policy change, the Midshipmen simply wore that uniform on their own will. Chokers are very popular for liberty and other occasions, however, they are rarely worn "officially" at the Academy.

Girlfriends
