I am an applicant for the class of 2014 and am very far along in the app. process... I have taken my CFA and am on the final stages of my DODMERB examinations, and have also sent in my applications for my nominations. However, obviously I want to get my Naval Academy application in as soon as possible, but I am currently at a stand still with that because I am looking to get my pilot's liscense iin the near future (have completed my first solo flight and have over 40 hours logged) and I want to put that down on my application. So should I wait until I have my pilot's liscense to apply, because that can differentiate me more from everyone else, or should I just look to get my application in ASAP?

It is my understanding that USNA is "rolling admissions". The sooner you have your application is, the more often it will be reviewed.

Unless someone else has information to the contrary, it is also my understanding that the earlier one has submitted a completed application, the greater one's chances for appointment. Once you have acquired your pilot's license, send an update to your application. It has always been recommended that updates be submitted for significant accomplishments when they occur after application submission.

Best of luck!

Before you put it down on your application, search for the correct spelling.

Putting down pilot's "liscense" is gonna look bad, very bad, on your application.

Yes, spelling counts.

Agreed send in the application now and update it once you get your PP license.

ENSmom is correct, USNA is "rolling admissions". Concur with everything said here - having/not having a pilots license isn't going to be a deal breaker. I suggest putting down what you have completed and an estimated complication date in your application (this shows them that it you'll have it completed soon) and then once you have your license send an update to your application.

Best of luck
