My son has been approved through DodMerb. It was noted that he had a deviated septum but with no problems. He's scheduled to have it fixed just to make it easier to breathe. He's been a competitive swimmer and it's never been an issue. Outpatient surgery is scheduled for the first week in April and the ENT expects him to resume full activities by the following week. So how is this reported? And I'm assuming that it would mean he then becomes disqualified and hopefully receives a waiver? Thanks.

I believe that you have to report this to DoDMERB including the ENT's approval that he is okay.

Praying for a fast recovery and DoDMERB Qualification.

If it's not giving him a problem then why do the surgery? Might it make sense to wait until after admittance? I'm sure you already thought of these aspects but just in case...

I apologize, but do you mean admittance into the USAF? It's mainly just to make life easier with PT and his future hopes as a pilot. And of course we have been told earlier that he should have it fixed, just never got around to it....oops.
