The Waiting Club

Hate to be party pooper but I think this week will be the big wave of TWE’s. My guess is tomorrow - Wednesday will be it . Reason I say that is DS got his last year on the 12th, and year before they got it in 17th so that’s my uneducated deduction .

Also , with what some of the threads are saying about being Commission Qualified vs. Potential Pilot Qualified in DODMERB seems to be if your PPQ you may have a leg up in getting an appointment may put you as more desireable . DS found out to get a Falcon Foundation Scholarship you need to be PPQ to be considered , so my assumption is anyone PPQ is the better med status to have ( anyone knowing for sure can correct me if I’m wrong !)

We are trying to figure out why DS is not PPQ in dodmerb and not having any luck ?! Dodmerb says it’s the academy that decides who is PPQ... kid passed a class 1 physical for his Private pilots license , when he had his vision portion for Dodmerb physical they said he has awesome pilot vision .

Anyone credible have any insight into this stuff ? Thanks !

Have they changed the way they do the medical qualifications for appointees? Back in the day, I was "Nav qualified"until I did all of the graduation exams as a a cadet. I got a Falcon scholarship and now I'm a pilot, so just curious if they've changed the way they do things.

We can't deduce according to the previous years because every year is different. This year's looking real different than other years. That said, I feel like we may see a mixed wave of BFE's and TWE's this week. Didn't some people say they went on a tour last month and what they heard from admissions led them to believe they were going to release both appointments and denials at the same time mid-April?

Kid only told me General Silveira said they have to be PPQ for a Falcon Scholarship but I don’t know at all what makes someone Navigator Qualed would like to know the difference from someone who does ! I guess it’s because I’m trying to help him figure out if he even wants to continue the Air Force route or look at other branches .,.. being some kind of pilot and flying for the military is his ultimate goal !

Well hope that’s the case and I’ll share DS status either way with y’all !

Was CPR a few hours ago, but now turned down by USNA. Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear! It’s been a journey.

Nothing for DS in his email or portal as of right now. Do the portals update with a letter or something? DS got TWE from USMA last week, in his portal Monday morning and in the mail on Thursday. Just wondering how it works for USAFA.

Everyone seems to be getting notified differently. My portal hasn’t been updated either for USAFA. It seems as if a lot of people have been getting TWE’s today. So maybe no news is good news right now.

Yep, I am still waiting here in Colorado. My portal has been the exact same since early December when I got my nomination posted and medical status to qualified (I'm PPQ in DoDMERB). The last message I got from them was in October telling me I had 2 weeks to get everything finished. Good luck to everyone waiting! I really hope we hear good news this week!

I’m in the exact same situation. Good luck to everyone.

I couldn't hardly sleep last night... Even tho plan B is SOLID and even took senior pictures yesterday evening in a Texas A&M polo and congrats admission thing they send when you are accepted. I was so ready for this waiting to be over this morning and announce the boy is going to A&M and we are so excited and so proud. But when DS got up and checked email and portal there was NOTHING. How silly is it that I'm starting to resent the SAs for the unknown timeframe? We are not a military family. We will be because the boy is going to be an officer in the Air Force or Navy, so I guess we will learn how to better manage the waiting to know as he navigates his military career. But today..... today I am frustrated.... today I have a headache from lack of sleep.... today I am a struggling helicopter mom.

So we are in the similar boat. My DS was up at midnight waiting to see if the portal would update. He has a solid Plan B though with A&M being plan C! Good luck!!!
