I saw not long ago that there were some spots available for Session 3...but that may have been attributable to slow/delayed acceptance or other factors. Good luck to all that are still waiting to hear. Out son is going Session 2 and he is NERVOUS/EXCITED/APPREHENSIVE all at the same time. He knows that it's going to be a more realistic taste of academy life and he's very anxious to see how he handles it. Other than one day at USAFASS, he said that experience was very relaxed.
He did comment on how many of the kids he spoke with at USAFASS were not really interested in pursuing admittance to the Air Force (or any other) Academy. A lot of kids he talked to said basically that their parents signed them up and they were there to "please their parents". That was very disheartening for me to hear. I immediately thought of the kids that were not accepted whose
dream it is to go to ANY academy and would have basically done
anything for the chance to attend (like our son). Sad to say, but I'm sure it's the same for some kids who actually go through the application process and get accepted to a SA only to realize later they're there for the wrong reason(s). We've all read those stories on this
very forum.
