I was the unforunate recipiant of one of those skinny white envelopes last spring but have not lost hope  I was wondering if anyone had any pointer or advice abt my application this year? and does my app from last year carry over?

Thanx

New application process for you. If you know of any weaker areas in your application, take steps to build.

Your application does not carry over, you will begin a new one in September.

Hopefully, you have enrolled in a local college and are prepared to pass swab-level courses such as calculus, chemistry, and English.

As you are not eligible for EA (only high school seniors and active duty are eligible), you have plenty of time (until Feb 1) to submit your improved college grades.

Also, improving your PFE score to somewhere around 250 will also help, but nothing will do more than a demonstrated proficiency in college level courses.

My son was in the same boat as you last year. He re-took the SAT (and showed a significant improvement), took a rigorous fall semester at the local CC and did well, tried a new sport and did well, improved his PFE, and had two new personal letters of recommendation written to supplement the academic ones. He also made contact with a local academy grad, and did another interview. Good things happen to those who truly show their interest by becoming a better candidate.

Good luck to you! I know it is hard to wait, but it was the BEST thing for our son and family. I think he will do much better this year than he might have last year with the extra year of growth and maturity, and he most definitely appreciates his appointment much more due to the wait and the effort he put out. You can do it! :thumb:

I had to do placment testing at the schoolwhere I am goin in the F\fall, Temple university, and ended up having a bad day on the mth side. I placed in to collage precalc despite having a year of highschool calc. Even if I do well in this class, will it serverilly hurt my new application? I test out of the first two english levels and am enroled in freshman level engineering classes which include Chemistry.

Reapplying?

What happens if an appointee gets injured prior to swab summer?

They risk the loss of their appointment, depending on the severity.

** - Wow, this is an OLD thread, why did you dig it up instead of just starting a new one?

Any change in health should be reported to DoDMERB using the Present Health Questionnaire (it can be downloaded from their website) and to the Admissions Office. The sooner you report injuries the easier it is to get a medical deferral (if necessary) to the next class and the more time you'll have to execute back-up plans to attend another college.
