I have applied for a ROTC 4 year scholarship and was approved adminstratively but pending my medical qualifiction. Well long story short I didn't pass medical for three main reasons
My main questions are, how hard is it to get waivers for these three conditions and what kind of tests are needed or is this pointless because you really can't get waivers for these things?
- Asthma- I only had this as a kid it was mild and exercise induced. But after entering into different athletic activities in high school I found that I didn't have any symptoms. I mean my one mile time was 6:30 and my two mile was 14:00 so I think it's pretty safe to say that my asthma is affecting me any more
- ADHD/Depression- I marked what was really adjustment problems from a nasty divorce between my parents although I did have some of the symptoms but I never took my ADHD medicine because when I did it hindered me rather than helped me.
- Growth Hormone Deficiency- I was treated for this again as a young kid and took growth hormone to help offset the symptoms it worked and I'm now a normal height. Although on another note new reasearch shows that growth hormone might help stop asthma
