Throwing this out there for any guidance. DS has had minor in grown toenail, should be have it remedied prior to dodmerb or just go through dodmerb process? Thank you in advance.

By the time he gets thru to dodmerb it will more than likely have resolved itself.

EFB1D980-33D2-4795-9895-3CDEB40DF2F2.jpeg I’ve treated hundreds of ingrown toenails. They can get to the point of being debilitating. If I removed this nail or even just the lateral edge, the patient would need light duty for 3-5 days.

In my experience with 3 DS's doing a DODMRB exam, none of them were a head to toe inspection. More like a school physical. If that's what you are wondering about. They more than likely wouldnt even see an ingrown toenail.

Thank you all, and Devil Doc, I can't unsee that!!!! His has never looked that severe. Tends to get sore when he lands a great kick during sparring matches. Just scheduled his DODMERB appointments for Mid August, will just answer everything honestly and see how it goes from here on out. And hope that WP opens their portal so he can finish that app. He is 90% thru USNA, 50 thru USAFA and done with USMMA except for essay, interview and CFA. Still practicing CFA. Made me smile last night, I was sitting in the house with a glass of wine and he was outside with his dad. I could hear the basketball land in the dirt in the driveway. Then footsteps, then a pause, then another 'thud'. Good memories for me, it's a long road and I hope the best for an outcome that will be what suits him the best. Thanks, guys!

Does he have any interest in Coast Guard? No need to throw a basketball for CGA [emoji57]

He is considering. Need to do more research on careers. USNA suits his degree path the most. And he would be 4th generation on my side if he makes it so that has an emotional component tied to it. But no Bball throw sounds awesome!!!!

Also no need for a nomination. It’s purely merit based. My DD is just finishing swab summer. CGA was the only academy she was interested in.

we both need to do some more research. USNA is where his heart is, but he is applying to others. I am not familiar with career options for USCGA and need to do some homework as does he. Thank you, and glad your DD is where she wanted to be.

USNA is where his heart is

Your DS probably already has this covered, but I didn't see it in your posts. If he wants USNA he should also apply for NROTC.
Thank you, it is on his list, just got back from Boys Nation and senior year started while he was in DC. He has been settling in and catching up since. He hopes to knock out a few remaining things this weekend and that includes NROTC. :)
