Important matters concerning the existence of Humanity - BACON

The stuffing (clearly) should be crumbled bacon.

Geez, you’d think after six pages, I’d have caught on to the gist of this thread. We’ll put the @THParent version under “recipe variations.” Now, where did I put that Lipitor?

I sent my DS and his shipmates a boatload of BACON JERKY. He put a few packages out at the CMOD desk and the locusts descended upon them within seconds of getting the text. Bacon love is alive and well at Canoe U.

DD’s uncle is an executive for a large beef jerky company. He sends her an occasional care package — pounds and pounds of dried meat. DD shares the wealth with her company and makes her shipmates very happy.

Ordering and sending to DS as a surprise. Had NO IDEA this even existed. He will be so surprised!

Gotta keep this going...….
Saw this on a cooking show a couple of weeks ago and my mouth is still watering.

Smoked pumpkin pie topped with cream cheese and heavily sprinkled with bacon.....
put the pie in the smoker for about 15 minutes to let it absorb all the smokie heaven.

To sip while hanging out with your outdoor cooking device of choice, a Bacon Bloody Mary made with bacon-infused vodka and peppered bacon. This is one of our favorites at Lures, a local place just a few miles up Generals’ Hwy from Annapolis. We go there on Saturdays for lunch or Sundays anytime. Eclectic menu, craft beer, well-made drinks, excellent burgers and small plates (Wagyu sliders!), fresh fish, entrée salads, outdoor seating and a tiny Pepperidge Farm goldfish hiding on almost every plate. “Lures,” get it?

Great place to take your mid and some friends. Free parking lot, but busy place. Locals’ getaway from DTA during fall football/reunion weekend/boat show crush.

Ditto Ram’s Head Roadhouse for escape-DTA.

Details, we need details - was it straight cream cheese? Or a soft, whipped-type frosting-ish thing? Or a piped-around-edges thing? Assume normal pumpkin pie hiding underneath. Lightly baconed or heavily?

Fried pickles AND a Bacon Bloody Mary? Are you kidding me? I will go to Lures on my next visit.
Thank you, @Capt MJ

You are most welcome. DH and DBIL always start our meals there with the Bacon Bloody Mary and a shared plate of the fried pickles. DSIL and I chow down on fresh-cut sweet potato fries.

Normal pie. Whipped cream cheese, dolloped on like whip cream. Is anything ever lightly baconed?????? Not in my house.

Had some over ripe bananas hanging around this weekend and a monsoon afternoon, so it was worth turning the oven on to make banana bread, a favorite of our DS and my DH. Recipe said I could use any fat, butter, oil, coconut oil, a blend thereof. My eye wandered from the olive oil, to the coconut oil to the real salted butter. I stopped when I saw the mason jar of real bacon fat. I felt guilty, I even looked over my shoulder. Should I?????

Ended up doing a blend 50/50 of butter and bacon fat. Then, to my own surprise found myself putting in a 1/2 cup of crumbled fresh cooked bacon. My DH thought I was nuts when I told him. Suffice it to say there is only 1/4 loaf left of the 2 large loaves I made. DH said best ever. This thread is really the gift that keeps giving.

This thread gives "clogging" a new meaning and it doesn't involve Dutch shoes. ;)

At least READING about it doesn’t have the same consequences as executing on some of these, says a very guilty me.
