this board seems quieter this year than last, right?

It’s all a function of how many USNA applicants are active here in any one cycle. No way to draw a correlation to rate of appointments that might be going out.

right, i mean there are just less people on the forum this year

Some might just not feel the need to post?
It was a lot more active last year. I can only speak for myself, but I don't think my mid posted anything except maybe in the appointment thread. I scoured every thread for as much information as I could find and passed on the most pertinent to him. DS likes to learn things the hard way. :bang: So far, so good, though;) All the best to you.

Are there any site traffic stat's that the moderators can share? This year vs last year? November to November perhaps?

My DS is waiting: staying busy with sports Football right into Wrestling. I'm sure other parents are dealing with the anticipation, trying not to show it and encouraging DS to keep on track.
It was the same for me. DS had the same sports' schedule as yours. It was a welcome distraction from the waiting. Good luck on his season and keeping him on track!

There was a lot of confusion last year regarding the government shut down and its affect on the admissions process.

BTW, we could have a discussion on effect vs affect if everyone is bored!

.
Na na na na nah .... I am chairman of the Bored.

Actually, I am sitting here profiling some data in R, playing around with some Kernel Density Plots …. Fun Fun Fun.
.
Segue .... I think our brains are just one big non-parametric kernel density probability estimation engine .... I just thought of that.

At some point on most special-interest forums everything has been asked and answered and is all there to be read without new posts via the search button. Perhaps some of that is going on here. My DS is a 2020 but I still drop in now and then- in 4 years I’ve seen a lot of repeats, but thankfully there’s some helpful folks here who give selflessly of their time, patiently answering the same questions from new young people.

I'm hoping to receive an appointment very soon, as I believe I just received the waivers I needed to complete all the required actions for my LOA. If anyone could help me understand if I did get both waivers, I would really appreciate it. I made a thread in this subforum.

All you need to do is wait a minute. I know you are excited, but the ones that can help you will...in proper time. Patience!
