Class of 2024 AEP Parents Thread

Me yelling at my DS: "Hey, check your spam folder. You might have invite in there."
DS: "Yea. I got the invite. Can we go?"
Me: "You already went to AIM. You don't need to."
DS: "Ahh c'mon."
Me: "The airline tickets are 800 bucks round trip per person!"
DS: "You won't have to pay a dime for tuition though."
Me: "Yea, but I'm still a tight ass."

DS has a point! C’mon Scoot! Join the March 19 crew!

Jeez, $800 bucks. Are you coming in from Guam? I was complaining to DS about $300 each. I’m gonna shut up now.

Hey @scooter2u we're coming in from southern CA and probably flying into Boston. It's a bit of a drive (just under 2 hours to New London), but a nonstop flight for approx. $300. Maybe check it out? We're going to take Saturday and check out Boston!
Thanks. I just booked our flights to Boston - half the price of flying in to Providence or Hartford 😁 A bit of a longer drive, but well worth it...

Been buying a lot of tickets to/from Missouri in the last year and $800.00 seems like a lot for tickets. Checkout flights into Hartford, Providence, and Boston for flights as well as Southwest airlines website don't think they use the travel sites for flight booking. We have used Hartford and Providence both not bad drives to CGA found Boston prices about the same as one of those two.

We are flying up this weekend (DS wants to attend a swim/dive meet). We were able to find direct flights from New Orleans to Newark for less than $150 each. After a lot of research, this seems like it will be the best route for us.

Were other candidates given a choice of dates, or was only one date offered in Bears Den?

DS only had the late April date in his events. I'm not sure if that's because the other dates were full, or because he's already visited three times (Bear Day, AIM, CFAD) and they wanted to give other appointees more choices and space ahead of the May 1 deadline.

Another suggestion if your DS/DD as playing a sport contact the coach and see if they have sports visit date open might be a better date for you
