Has anyone heard from the prep school yet? I feel as if my best bet of entry is through Prep, but have yet to hear of any offers this year? Is this normal or should I be concerned having not received an offer?

My DS received a LOA for the prep school last week.

Sure are you just looking for his standardize test scores, GPA and class rank?... he is in the top quartile of his class with an unweighted GPA of 3.82; SAT 1220/ACT27.
Thank you,
Similar to my DD

Sounds similar... during the entire process my DD was told they would recommend for prep due to test scores. Athletic kid, great CFA scores, great GPA... good blend of rigor courses... but challenging standardized test scores.

Who told her that? DD seems to think she isn’t even competitive enough for prep. I think this whole process sure is wearing her down and she’s losing faith.

I am sorry to hear that... this is a very stressful process and my DD got varying feedback. Both during the BGO/ALO interview and during the congressional interviews. Seemed to hear more about ”be open minded to prep”... that is likely your path due to standardized score. Also note, March is the big month - or so we have been told - to hear about either track.

I was just informed this morning (4 Mar 20) through my nomination source (House of Representative) that I was offered a Prep Slot for USAFA. I was aware of the fact that most offers of direct appointments and prep slots were made in March and the following months afterward, however, I didn't expect it to be this fast. Patience is key, however, don't let your thoughts jumble your success; make sure you keep on your studies (being academically eligible) and be physically fit for the upcoming months till Prep School.

Care to share your stats? Congratulations!
