I am from georgia and was wondering if a nomination from a senator from another state would be possible?

You cannot apply for a nomination to a senator or congressman from any state other than Georgia.

I have been told by a local Blue & Gold Officer that for candidates who receive LOA (letter of assurance) and for whom there is no available nomination, that they can get an unfilled nomination from another state.

Another Blue & Gold Officer in this forum says that is untrue.

I'm not a Blue & Gold Officer, so I don't know.

But I do know that, even if a nomination from another state were possible, you would have no way of controlling that. You are not eligible to compete in another state. So, you can't increase your chances of gaining a nomination in this way - if that's what you were wondering.

Unless things have drastically changed this application cycle nominations cannot be shared cross state. IMHO that would get really political.
I have heard, may not be the case this year with it being so competitive, that if the Academy wants someone bad enough the Supe can nominate.

Side note: Had one candidate who was not picked up in the '11 go round who left our state to go to an out of state college. Parents were no longer supporting candidate when he reapplied for '12 and he had declared residency in the new state. Could not go back to his home state to seek a nom. Nomination must be sought from the state of residency.
