In the instructions for applicants offered admission it says: "Cadet candidates are responsible for ensuring they are dentally qualified prior to arriving at West Point. Any required dental treatment should be completed 30 days prior to R-Day, especially third molar (wisdom tooth) extraction or orthodontic treatment."

Does this mean I need my wisdom teeth removed even if I do not have any problems with them?

No, I believe it is saying that if you do have your wisdom teeth removed then it needs to be done 30 days before R-day.

No. Some people never need them removed.

If you do need them removed, do it before 30 days of R day. go to your dentist early enough and have her give her professional opinion.

Many cadets/mids have their wisdom teeth pulled while at an SA. But on an as-needed basis, not preemptively.

MULLEN ANSWER:
1. No.

INTENTIOANL SPACE

2. Additionally, If your dentist/orthodontist has determined you require, as part of his/her care plan for you...having NOTHING to do with West Point..."Any required dental treatment should be completed 30 days prior to R-Day, especially third molar (wisdom tooth) extraction or orthodontic treatment."
3. If you have any doubt whatsoever, you can show this to your dentist/orthodontist and they'll know what to do.
