I thought I would post this to calm nerves that you are truly not unique and there are many of us who walked this before you.

This yr will be insane, you will get noms and wait every Thurs/Fri for that fat envelope from the AFA.
DON'T! There is a reason that they call it mass mailing in March.

You will freak when you find out somebody in your town got an appointment.
DON'T! You do not know the source. It does not mean that all hope is lost!

You will freak when you look at somebody's resume.
DON'T! The AFA re-calcs the gpa. The AFA looks at the whole package. They could have a great PAR, and EC, but horrible CFA

You will freak when you see an amazing CFA score
DON'T! Same for PAR is true for CFA...you could have a higher CFA, and EC with a lower PAR

The point is, don't wrap yourself up over what is posted here. Use it as a guide and a tool to update your file. There are 10K kids that open files, only 3K get noms, this site or any other site does not have every candidate on it, many are walking around blind right now, without any realization on how to fix their bball, waivers, or updating, use that to your advantage.

Also, make sure you have a plan B

BEST OF LUCK to 2014...ABOVE ALL...AIM HIGH

PS If you have to question why I say ABOVE ALL or AIM HIGH...than I question your allegiance to the AF. Hornet can tell you, his moniker ticks me off! Hornet come on now...do you really want to get an AF call sign because your AFA brethren ratted you out on this moniker? FYI, I have been after him for a long time to change it...maybe that should be a thread, make Hornet take an AF name...love you Hornet:rolleyes:

USAFA 2014 Hopeful!

I think I need to have this message drilled into my head. I'm done with the app and its time to relax... Thanks Pima. Good luck to all!

IMHO we should get him prepared for AD and have it changed to FNG1:shake:

To the rest of you, I do hope that my post helps you in the ability to keep yourself balanced when it is good and bad.

Thanks pima,

I can and have already felt this jealousy/anxiety throughout my short process. I guess it is only natural, but it should not dominate your actions. There isn't much, as applicants, that we can do now except wait, and sometimes extended periods of patience can have very bad effects on you attitude (at least my experience).

As for enjoying my senior year, I have never been so busy in my life. I typically have 12-13 hour days with all my activities. I didn't think it would be this much when I first started. Hopefully next semester it won't be quite as hard. From what I have heard, it is good to be busy your senior year, but I may have overbooked myself.

Later,

Brian

I saw that title to this and thought you were talking about freshman year. Don't worry, 2014, the ride won't end with the letter.

Think you are busy, if you get accepeted, next year is gonna be so busy. I cant speak for the three years after that, I heard next year for me is hardest academically, but I am always doing something. :thumb:

Yeah I thought I looked sub-par on my application, but I got an early acceptance... imagine that.

If you're done with your application, stay excited and remember the feeling, but don't for get to enjoy your final year as a regular person. Trust me, you'll miss it.

2014, you can't get here soon enough.
